Area Information

Jackson Hole, Wyoming is not like any other resort area in the U.S. and that’s because most of the land is either in the National Park or National Forest. In fact, 97% of this land is owned by the government, and therefore all but 3% of this land is not developable.

Wyoming has been consistently rated as the #1 most wealth-friendly states by Bloomberg Wealth Manager and other similar publications. Wyoming’s ability to provide such benefits to its residents is a product of a resilient economy, which in large part is driven from its rich mineral revenue base, which often leads to a budget surplus around $1 billion per year.

Cast to rising fish in the Grand Teton National Park while the Grand, South and Middle Teton are your back drop. The Snake River Fine Spotted Cutthroat trout is our native fish, and can only be found right here in Teton County. If you’re interested in fishing for Cutthroat trout, the Snake River or one of the many tributaries like the Hoback River, Gros Ventre River, or Flat Creek will give you a lifetime of fishing. How can you beat playing one of our great area courses with the Tetons in the distance. With designers like Arnold Palmer, Robert Trent Jones, Tom Weiskopfs and Tom Faszio, golf is at its best here in the Greater Yellowstone Area. The Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis Club just invested $15 Million in the club, which includes a brand new club house, tennis courts, practice facility and pool. For those who may be interested in investing in real estate close to the airport and parks, with dead – on Teton Views, this may be a good option. Just outside of town is Three Creek Ranch, a private club, with a spectacular golf course and facilities. The Creek is named for the three spring creeks that run right through the middle of the development, so if you’re interested in Fishing and Golf properties at the resort this may be the one. South of Jackson, in the Snake river canyon, is the Snake River Sporting Club, another private course that offers dramatic views of the Snake River while playing golf. Another option for you avid golfers will be the Shooting Star golf course at Teton Village to be completed 2009, this may be the best of the west. I’m an avid golfer, and member at the JHG&T club, so lets put together a round this summer.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) is simply the best ski area in this country. Before getting on the Tram to the top of Rendezvous Mountain at 10,450’, the sign reads: “Our mountain is like nothing you have ever skied before! It is huge. You could become lost. You could make a mistake and suffer personal injury or death. Give this special mountain the respect it demands!”. Although our mountain is known for our advanced skier terrain, don’t be fooled because JHMR has more than enough skiing for everyone. You may want to take twenty feet of air to get into the famous Corbet’s Coulior from the top, or you may chose to ride the high speed quad to the top of Apre Vous mountain to catch a long groomed run to the base area. No matter what your skiing skill level is, JHMR has something for everyone. In the town of Jackson is Snow King ski area. There you can chose a much smaller mountain and even some night skiing. And, if you’ve never been to Targhee Ski area, about one and a half hours from Jackson on the back side of the Tetons, then you may want to check out some of the best intermediate powder skiing this country has to offer.
